British Airways Cabin Crew Given Drugs by Passenger

After a British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Los Angeles, three cabin crew members were hospitalized after consuming candies given to them by a passenger that contained a high dose of drugs (THC). The products were eaten when the crew had completed the flight and gone to their hotel, after which the staff began experiencing symptoms such as panic attacks and perceptual disturbances. Medical tests revealed that each gummy candy contained approximately 300 mg of THC.

As a result of the incident, the entire operating crew was stood down in the United States and given rest. British Airways urgently dispatched a replacement crew to operate the return flight. The affected staff were sent back to the United Kingdom as passengers after completing their treatment in Los Angeles. The airline stated that the incident did not affect flight safety and that an investigation has been launched in coordination with law enforcement authorities.
